The first war between the commonwealth of England, and the United Provinces. Caused by English attacks on Dutch merchant ships, and other trade conflicts between the countries. -
Great Plague of London
The last great plague, estimated to have killed up to 100,000 people withing London, which at the time was estimated to be about 15% of the city's population. -
Second Anglo-Dutch War
Second of the wars fought between the English and the United Provinces that were the Dutch. The conflict was over who could control the most trade outposts and trade routes, and was provoked by the English privateers attacking Dutch ships. -
Great Fire of London
A great fire ravaged the majority of the city over the course of three days, and it is reported that the fire destroyed 70,000 of the 80,000 homes of the citizens. -
Treaty of Westminster
The treaty that ended the third was between the English and the United Provinces. Set guidlines for what colonies and trade territories each country would receive.
