- Timber came from Syria, Wine and oil came from Crete and pottery wheels came from Mesopotamia, and were introduced to Egypt during the life of the Old Kingdom.

- Lower Egypt (Delta Kingdom) was ruled by a monarchy

-By 2050 BCE Egypt was ruled by Theban kings who would rule for the next 250 years

During the New Kingdom some of the most familiar names in pharaohs ruled over ancient Egypt
-Hatshepsut was the wife of Thutmose II
-She adopted the status of King, while Thutmose III was young
-She is remembered as history's first great female ruler
