  • Chapter 23: Muteyo

    Chapter 23: Muteyo
    Tendai and Rita are brought into the village. Tendai, Rita and several others are chosen to drink the witch-finding muteyo. They both pass the test, making them permanent members of Resthaven. Myanda however hasn’t drank her drink. This causes the people of Resthaven to become suspicious, and to assume that she is a witch. Myanda confesses that she is a witch, and runs off into the woods. Later on Trashman, Kuda, Tendai and Rita escape, and find themselves back in the city.

    Chapter 29: Control
    When Arm comes back from investigation and takes Sekai from the Mellower, Sekai cries because of what Arm saw in the subway and their special bond. Arm gives Sekai back to Mellower. Eye tell him to control and shut down his mind reading ability when around Sekai. Arm gets really bummed about it.

    Chapter 21: The Truth
    General Matsika reveals about the Resthaven and why they can’t enter. According to the General the place exists to preserve the culture of Africa, and it does not follow the rules of 2194. Resthaven is backed by many influential politicians and multimillionaires.
  • Chapter 26: The Special Bond

    Chapter 26: The Special Bond
    Arm, Ear and Eye escape out of Resthaven in spite of the villagers chasing them down. As they exit the village, the policemen notice that Arm has a crying baby in his arms. The police help the baby by giving her formula. Then Arm learns that he has a special bond with Sekai.

    The Mellower comes over to the detectives place and he praises them again. In order to help Arm, the Mellower offers to take care of Sekai as they work. When Arm leaves for work, he asks the Mellower if the General gives a reward in return of information. Hearing this the Mellower suddenly gets very pale and tries to pass the question quickly. Arm and eye notices the Mellower’s suspicious reaction and doubt he’s hiding something.

    Chapter 28: Stuck
    The children are unable to get out of Mrs. Horsepool-Worthingham. She is still making them do chores and other work to pay their stay. Kuda is in a separate room.
  • Chapter 30: The Real Reason

    Chapter 30: The Real Reason
    Mrs. Horsepool-Worthingham gets angry because Trashman had eaten all the berries in the garden. Tendai and Rita remember that today was the Borrowdale Animal Fancier’s Society meeting, and that the berries were supposed to be used for the refreshments.

    Tendai moves on from the situation to work on the porridge he was making. While stirring, he notices Mrs. Horsepool-Worthingham going to the den. Tendai follows her into the room and he finds out that Mrs. Horsepool-Worthingham is holding them in ransom, and that their parents are not on a cruise. Later Tendai tells Rita about this and they come up with a plan.

    Chapter 22: Twins
    Tendai is asleep when he hears a baby’s cry. Chipo has twins and because the people of Resthaven believe that twins are caused by witchcraft, they plan on killing one of the two babies. Tendai and Rita are brought into a hut, and Myanda comes to visit them. She talks about her past, and explains how she first entered Resthaven. She also helps prepare them for the potion drinking ceremony, that would soon take place.
  • Chapter 24: Going to Borrowdale

    Chapter 24: Going to Borrowdale
    Tendai, Rita and Kuda are now out of Resthaven along with Trashman. They decide to go to the subway ; to go to Mazoe. They don’t have money for the tickets, but a old man offers to pay for their fare. This is when they find out that the last stop is Borrowdale. However they remember that the Mellower’s mother was mentioned to live in Borrowdale. In conclusion they make a decision to try going to the mother’s house.
  • Chapter 25: Scene in Resthaven

    Chapter 25: Scene in Resthaven
    The three detectives break into Resthaven where they overhear the spirit medium and chief argue over Myanda’s situation. Arm steps out and reveals himself as a child of Myanda to save her. Myanda denies the act as she gives Sekai to Arm. She tells the detectives that the General’s kids have left Resthaven. The kids arrive at the Mellower’s mother’s house, and she welcomes them politely as she hears that they are the children of the General.
  • Chapter 27: Mrs. Horsepool-Worthingham

    Chapter 27: Mrs. Horsepool-Worthingham
    Tendai, Rita and Kuda are currently staying at Mrs. Horsepool-Worthingham’s house. Rita starts to recover from her sickness, while Kuda and Tendai are still recovering. Mrs. Horsepool-Worthingham helps care for their illness, but they must do chores around the house.
