This act made schooling compulsory for children aged between 5 - 15 -
Butler Act (Education act of 1944)
This established a tripartite system for school centred around 11 years old. -
Leaving age raised to 16
The education act of 1973 raised the leaving age to 16 meaning all students were required to sit GCSEs. -
GCSE's introduced to replace CSE's
This impacted on the type of exams I was required to take. -
The National Curriculum was written and began to be implemented in state-managed schools
This was important as even I was educated on a national curriculum evolving from the original one. -
OFSTED was created

This was to help fund the higher education system. -
Started Primary School education at Roberts Primary School

KS1 Sats tests were downplayed
This meant many schools including my own decided to not assess students at KS1. -
Tuition Fees rise to £3,000
This was to help combat inflation -
KS3 Sats are removed
This removal of Sats meant teachers had no formal way of predicting grades for GCSE. -
Academies act
This saw an rise in schools turning to academies. -
Started Secondary education at High Arcal
My Secondary School -
Tuition fees rise to £9,000
and were then capped at £9,250 in 2017. -
High Arcal became an academy

Education and skills act implemented
This raised the school leaving age to 18. -
GCSEs changed by Michael Gove
In this change all January exams were removed and coursework was removed from the assessed materials list. This change in education meant teachers were playing catch up for most of my Key Stage 4 education as i was the first year. -
Tertiary level exams changed
This removed As-level exams and once more removed course work from the assessed materials list. Once more my education was stunted by the fact I was the first year to experience the changes so my teachers were once again playing catch up. -
Started tertiary education at King Edward VI college
