    He was the founder of the school of thought. This is also known as British empiricism. He was very influential and made foundational contributions to modern theories. This changed what school looked like now in the modern days because it was such a big contribution to everyday life.
  • Jean-Jacques Rousseau

    He was best known for his work on the social project. He talked about the relationships between individuals and society in this.
  • Johann Henrich Pestalozzi

    He was an educational reformer who exemplified romanticism in his approach. He was the founder of what became the "Pestalozzi method".
  • Robert Owen

    He tried prohibiting child labor in the workplace and it worked. He also was the father of utopian socialism. He also helped with the co-operative movement.
  • Friedrich Wilhelm Froebel

    He laid the foundation for modern education based on the recognition that children have different needs sometimes.

    She was an Italian educator who was acclaimed for her educational method that builds on the way children learn naturally.
  • Standards

    This helped describe the knowledge and skills that every student should learn and be able to do at each grade level. This helped with future education because it helped with children's learning possibilities.
  • DAP

    This is developmentally appropriate practice. It was an approach that early care and education professionals use in school.
  • No child left behind

    This required schools to demonstrate their success in terms of the academic achievement of every student. This was the main law for K-12 general education in the United States.
