    Europeans started to Journey south around the continent of Africa in Hopes to reach the wealth of silks and spices found in India and China.

    Europeans Started to Trade with Africans

    After their great explorations they finally made it to Africa and started to see how their culture was different and how they had these amazing spices, So they began an amazing trade with the people from the South of the Sahara.

    Colonization

    In the fight over the river that saved much time and Britain began by seizing Egypt to gain control of the Suez Canal; a man made waterway connecting the Mediterranean Sea to the Red Sea. France took control over most of western North Africa. Spain and Italy also gained territory in Morocco and Somalia.

    Esuropeans started to make money off of Africans and how they would make things because there was a great need for spices at this time so they started to trade of the africans and their spices (the start of slavery)

    Slavery started to become more common and Americans took African people to America killing many and put them to work and if they hadn't worked hard enough they would-have had their hands machete off, this also happened in Europe, and many other places across, And was protested in world war 2 and eventually stopped!
  • Great Britain's Marvelous Plans

    Britain had an amazing idea so they bought a strip of land in southwest Asia and were going to build a railroad track from one side of the country to the other. They were going to do this so that they wouldn't have to go all the way around the country just to import goods this plan would save them thousands of miles.

    Africa was declared independence from Great Britan, But there were still a white minority that was the rulers of South africa,

    Africans started the African national congress to form governmental changes to start their fight towards the inequality of Africans.

    But, They still had to work for whites, mostly because they didn't have anywhere else to go, but now they were at least being payed. They would raise their babies and would also do other things for the White race. But their was segregation in Africa, and everything was separated after independence, they also had no sat ing the government.
  • Still inequality in South Africa

    Black South Africans were forced to live and work where whites demanded. Blacks could not marry white people, and they received poor health care and schooling. Black South Africans were not allowed to vote so they had no say in the government.

    The policies of apartheid led to violent revolts. Black South Africans formed the African National Congress to work for governmental change, but their leaders were often jailed.

    Great Britain had let Sudan gain its independence back and, there were many different types of religion but the most common was Christianity, Their government was now in the northern part of Sudan.

    After Brittan declared Sudan independant they started a new rebult against the northern government and how it was unfair that the northerners' were ruling the country and southern people didn't have any say in what went on in their country.

    Life was not perfect in Africa after independence, Countries that had been colonized were economically devastated. Things were made more difficult because the Europeans had draw country lines without regard to where different ethnic groups were located.

    The whole slavery thing was very unfair just because of the colour of their skin they had to work for white people and then if they were caught not working hard enough they would get their hans and feet machete off, this happened in Belgum Congo

    They gained independence but shortly after they started to see more and more violence in the area, then Hutu took controll over the land and then violence carried on.

    In Rwanda they were divided between 2 ethnic groups Hutu and Tutsi and Hutu before colonialazation ruled the tutsi, But now after colonial times' The tutsi were preferred over the Hutu, Which the Tutsi now rule Rwanda.

    Joseph Mobutu seized power, He renamed the country Zaire and ruled uninterrupted for 32 years. Nigeria suffered from violence among its many ethnic groups. In 1976 the Igbo people tried to declare themselves independent, They named their new country Biferia, Over a million people died before igbo agreed to be a part of Nigeria.

    Nigeria started to struggle with violence because of its many ethnic groups. So Igibu declared themselves independant.
  • Finally Mandelas dreams are coming true

    Mandela was just released out of prison once again and was released by De Klerk, and when he became president he realized that apartheid couldn't be continued anymore, and released Mandela.
  • Nelson Manuela solves Inequality problems in Africa

    Nelson had had a rough time in his life being sent to jail multiple times and it took over most of his life and he was doing this and never lost hope in the future and what hopes he had for Africa and how he could fix all of these inequality problems and make a better life for all Blacks' . De Klerk (president of Africa) helped Mandela Strive to meet his dreams.
  • Mandela was awarded a Nobel Peace Prize

    Mandela and De Klerk were both awarded a Nobel Peace Prize for their amazing work and inspiring story of not losing hope even though you might feel like you want to.
  • Tutsi regained peace in Rowanda

    Tutsi took back over control and gained back the peaceful country they all loved many Hutus' feed to Democratic Republic of Congo Which they still struggle with violence from Hutu and Congo.
  • The Hutu are not happy about the new government

    The Hutu Killed almost 800,000 to 1 millioon Tutsi people were murdered after violence broke out. This all happened when Hutu took back control over Rowanda.
  • After all of the wars there are know weak governments

    After all of the fighting and violence in Africa there were many weak countrys that didnt have much and not a ver good government system. But the Tunisia people started to lean the governments over to the Democratic side.
  • Black farmers' war

    Black farmers were in a fight over the water in between Darfur and southwest Sudan. They are both struggling to find enough water for either of their crops forcing around 300,000 people to leave their homes and around 100,00, and 400,000 people murderd over this civil war over water.
  • Protesters Spread thier message

    protesters started to spread and educate other places in the world through social media, and told everyone about their poor government and human abuse. And there started to be more democratic presidents that became president in Algeria, Arab spring, and Morocco.
