King James Bible
The translation of the King James Bible began in 1604 and was completed in 1611. It had a similar language to previous bibles, used archaic grammar and was deliberately archaic. The aim of his bible was to make a good translation of a word better. cnges of grammar were 'eth' used rather than 's'. It used archaic nouns and was a 3rd English translation. There are 257 phrases used today in contempary English, there are only 18 unique to the King James Bible. It also contained 66 books. -

What is interesting is I doesn't use sub clauses, its straight English, not cluttered by clauses. -
Great Vowel Shift
The Great Vowel Shift occurred. Circa 15th-18th century. This was a change in the pronunciation of vowels. Short vowel sounds were elongated and the original vowel sounds were diphthongized. -
The 18th Century
In 1755 Samuel Johnson published the first comprehensive dictionary hoping that it would help writers spell and understand words. Robert Lowth published a book of grammar with the intention of fixing the rules of grammar telling people how to speak correctly. Once the dictionary was changed completely Samuel Johnson noticed that he couldn't 'fix' the language and omitted a lot of the slang words. His dictionary isn't necessarily correct as they are his own spellings so they may not be accurate.
