Magna Carta was drafted
The Magna Carta was a document created to make peace and lower the power of the monarchy. It also gave the people their basic legal rights ,so that they can be treated fairly and no one had more power than someone else. -
Petition of Rights is drafted
A petition sent to King Charles with people complaiing of the laws that were being broken,and so this petition made it with four distinct principles. Those were that no taxing without the consent of parliment, no one can be sent to prison without aspecific reason no quatering of soldiers and no martial law in peacetime. -
English Bill of RIghts is drafted
The English Bill of Rights were the lead the making of the American Bill of Rights. It made it so that the royal family had limits to their power over their people. This came about when King james offended the protestant church by saying that the catholic church was better than the protastant. -
Stamp act
A law that charged every American a tax for every piece of paper they used. Whether it was legal documents or newspapers. This money was used to go towards to pay the costs of defending and protecting the American Frontier. -
Boston Massaacre
There was a bit of tenstion beween the Americans and British Soldiers. One day the Boston people were near the British soldiers and they threw a snowball at one of the men and of course it enraged them for the lack of respect. Thus creating killing of Boston people. -
Townshend duties
Parliment cut the British land tax and to balance everything out Charles Townshend will tax the Americans. They were taking advantage of the American distinction of external and internal taxes. -
Tea Act
Britian was in debt and needed a way to get out of that debt. By selling tea at a high prce to America was not to anger them it was to et out of debt. America had enough of the high taxation so they went into the harbor and dumped the tea out of the shipping boats to protest agains the British/ -
1st continental congress
Congress was together for 2 months in Carpenters Hall, and every representative from each colony was present except for Gerogia. Each of these representatives are elected by the people of the colonies. -
2nd continental congress
Dongress met in Philidelphia once again after the two battles of Lexington and Concord. The met in what was called the Independance Hal, this had members that wer not involved in the first continental congres and was made up 65 delegates. -

Declaration of Independance was signed
On this date 56 men gathered together in Philidelphia and signed this document to present that they will now become their own country.That each of states were to be divided and have the same amount of power as any other state.
