Alvar Nunez Cabeza de Vaca was part of a Spanish expedition to Florida in 1528. After coming into a conflict with the Native Americans in Florida, the expedition sailed south towards Mexico in November, led by Panfilo de Narvaez. Three of five boats were lost in a storm. Cabeza de Vaca told the Native Americans that they had healing powers. He told eager listeners about the seven city's of gold. -
