The very first meeting of the House of Burgesses was held in Jamestown, Virginia. This first meeting was held on the date of July 30, 1619. They all met in a church as a choir. The members established precedents that were connected with the English parliamentary law. -
Virginia Company sends Women
A few women were sent to Virginia to be wives for the Virginia Colonist. When these women were sent to Virginia we are looking at about the year of 1609, but when they actually became wives and mothers and over 140 maids were sent to Virginia from the years of 1620-1622. -
