Robert Owen established a school for infants in Scotland. He believed that a controlled, "utopian", environment would help to make a well-behaved and educated child. It's believed that his policy influences us to today, with having rules in the classroom.

Friedrich Froebel established a kindergarten, which has clearly become important and pretty normalized at this point. Froebel realized that children can learn through play, who knew children would want to learn if learning was fun.

Maria Montessori opened the Children's House in Rome, where she kept young children out of trouble by giving them something to do that was constructive for them. Her famous philosophy of education stemmed from there. Her philosophy being that in the correct environment, where learning is fun/oriented towards young children, it's actually really easy to teach young kids.

The Civil Rights Act is important to early childhood education because without it, many people would be unable to obtain a better education.

A program called Head Start was established. It was meant to help young children who come from low income families and provide them and their families with assistance and education. This allows for young children of all economic backgrounds to start at the same place for education.

The Elementary and Secondary Education Act (ESEA) is created to help low income families to get educations. It benefits schools in buying new and better materials and updating facilities. It also created school lunch programs to help kids get a meal for the day. This goes hand in hand with the Head Start Program :)

San Francisco was the first large city to require developers to set aside space of funds for child care space.This impacts child care because most likely other cities thought it was a good idea which/were pressured into it, so many city early education would be different if it werent for that

The No Child Left Behind Act was passed as a way to support Title I students who needed provisions and help . Also pretty much changed a lot of the current education policies we're experiencing right now. Encouraged standardization-based education reform.

Operation Military Child Care is started to support the child care needs of parents who are activated and deployed. (also the title is a whole joke I swear). It affects early childhood education of young children of the active duty military officers.
