Leif Eriksson is a Norse explorer who was a viking who after sailing the coast of North America, Leif Eriksson wrote down areas of "flat stone" then areas of "sandy beaches" and "land of woods." Martin Frobisher
He claimed Baffin Island for England. He also discovered Resolution Island and Frobisher Bay. On his third trip, in 1578, Frobisher sailed 15 ships up the Hudson Strait, and set up a temporary mining settlement near Frobisher Bay and formed a mining company called the Cathay Company. He died on November 26 1594.
