Treaty of Alcaçovas-Toledo
The Treaty agreed:
- Peace between the Kingdom of Portugal and the kingdoms of Castile and Aragon and the end to hostilities after the War of Castilian Succession.
- Alfonso V resigned the throne of Castile and Isabel and Ferdinand renounced the throne of Portugal.
- Assigned the territories: Portugal was left with the territories that were in the south and Castile with all that was in the north.

Christopher Columbus' third voyage

On this trip, Columbus discovered the Trinidad Island and the mouth of the Orinoco River in Tierra de Gracia (current north of Venezuela).
Returned to La Española where he was taken prisoner by the complaints of the Spaniards who were unhappy with his command. He returned chained to Spain, where queen Elizabeth liberated him. -
