    Democritus

    Democritus
Democritus was born around 460 BC and died around 370 BC. Democritus mad up an atomic theory similar to modern sciences understanding of the atom. His theory suggested that atoms can’t be destroyed and only differ in shape, position and arrangement.
  • Isaac Newton

    Isaac Newton
Isaac Newton was born in England on the 15th of December 1642 and died on the 20th of March 1727. Newton suggested that atoms are hold together.
  • George Johnstone Stoney

George Johnstone Stoney was born in Ireland on 15th of February 1826 and died on the 5th of july 1911. George Johnstone Stoney introduced the term electron as the fundamental unit quantity of electricity. He first introduced the concept as early as 1974 and came up with the word in 1891.
  • John Dalton

    John Dalton
John Dalton was born on the 6th of September 1766 and died on the 27th of july 1844. John Dalton was an English chemist, meteorologist and physicist. He is best known for his pioneering work in the modern atomic theory. In the Dalton theory there are five main ponts.1. Elements are made of extremely small particles called atoms.2. Atoms of a fiven element are identical in size, mass and other properties.3. Atoms cannot be subdivided, created or destroyed.4. Atoms of different elements combi

  • James Chadwick

    James Chadwick
James chadwick born 20th October 1891 died in 24th July 1974 Was and English Laureate in physics and was awarded for his discovery of the neutron.James Chadwicks discovery made it possible to produce elements heavier than uranium.

  • Ernest Rutherford

    Ernest Rutherford
Ernest Rutherford was born in 30th August 1971 and died on the 19th of October 1937. He was New Zealand born but moved to Britain. He became known as the father of nuclear physics. He is considered the greatest experimentalist since Michael Faraday. Ernest Rutherford theorized that atoms have their charge concentrated in a very small nucleaus. He late made the Rutherford model of the atom. He also was one of the first people to split an atom in 1917.
