Sopwith Bat boat
Britains first flying boat and the worlds first true ampibian developed by Sopwith aviation. The wings were built in brooklands while the hull was from shipbuilders in Cowes. The plane was powered was powered by Gnome rotary engines in a tractor configuration, unlike the later model wich had an Ausstro Daimnler engine that pushed the arir craft forwards. -

Sopwith Camel
The Sopwith Camel was the main plane used by the R.A.F in world war 1 and was the main rival of the Fokker.
It shot down 1294 enemy aircraft and many more allied ones on top of this.
Positives.
it was a very succesfrul plane shooting down the most German planes World War 1.
It had heavy armarment
after synchronisation in the allied planes became more then a match for the German planes
Negatives
It was hard to control
It was very easy to shoot through
It was slower than it's rival -
Hawker Fury
After the switch to Hawker aviation Hawkers first succesful aircraft was the Fury wich was a plane typical of the crossover between the biplanes and monoplanes.
Positives:
It was the first plane to break the 200 mph barrier
It was used throughout the world
It had better handling than its rivals.
Negatives:
It was very quickly replaced by new technology
It was very fragile and could be shot through easily
It was not heavily armed
It was quickly put out of use by the German Monoplanes. -
Hawker Hurricane
The Hurricane was the puritan of the second world war compared to the more fancy spitfire. Itlike the puritans was more succesful than the spitfire
Positives:
It was responsible for 60% of the R.A.F's total kills in world war 2
It was the first R.A.F plane to break the 300mph barrier.
It was extremely easy to repair and could take many bullets
Negatives:
It was weak because it was made of fabric
It was not as popular as it's more glamorous cousin
It had a low rate of climb -
Hawker Sea Hawk
the Hawker Sea Hawk was the fiion companyrst jet plane used by the Hawker aviaton
Positives:
It was a very succesful plane used through out the remains of the empire.
It was very easy to land on carriers
it could fold up it's wings
Negatives:
It was quite slow
it had a lot of drag caused by the wing position which was proved to be worse then swept back positioned planes
it had very little armament -
Hawker Hunter
the Hunter was a day time interceptor designed for the R.A.F By Sydney Camm. It had origins in the earlier Sea Hawk
Positives:
It was the fastest plane at the time.
It had a very high climb rate
It was very low maintenance and eventually proved popular.
Negatives:
It has bad corrosion issues
When flying high enough firing would cause the engine to burn up
It also had a very limited range of 1 hour so they often ran out of fuel. -
Hawker _P.1127
The Hawker P.1127 was one of the most iconic aeroplanes at the time and was famous for it's special capabilities.
Positives:
It was the first VTOL aircraft
It intrested many countries and ensured that the later planes would be succesful
It was very mobile and was ideal for use on carriers

It had no guns
It crashed spectacularly in Paris
it used up its fuel very quickly -
Hawker Siddley Harrier
The new Jump jet was the first supersonic jet created by Hawker and was a continuation of the earlier planes.
Positives
It was ideal for many circumstances and needed no runway.
It could be altered easily
It was one of the most succesful planes winning the falklands war with no casualties lost and the argentinian air force destroyed.
Negatives
It used it's fuel up quickly
it was susceptible to corrosion when used at sea
it was very easy to crash -
BAe/McDonnell Douglas Harrier II
the BAe Harrier was a development of the earlier jumpjets and was made without Hawker.
Positives:
It, like its predecessors, was very useful on carriers. It had also had it's corrosion problems fixed.
it was very useful in night attacks
It was more heavily armed and had more lift
Negatives:
It was very hard to land normally
It was hard to learn to fly as it required both plane and helicopter flying abilities meaning it was less popular.
It required modification of carriers for STOL takeoff
