    Marco Polo was an Italian voyager. He was the first European explorer to travel from Italy, across Asia, to Beijing. He wrote a book titled "Book or Ser Marco Polo" around 1298 recapturing his travel accounts. He spent 24 years traveling.

    John Cabot was born in Italy with the name Giovanni coboto. He moved to England in 1495. He sailed to Canada upon request of King Henry VII in 1479. He was attempting to sail past North America to Asia. He was unsuccesful.
