    The Emergency Farm Mortgage Act
    -The Federal Farm Loan Act had been passed under President Woodrow Wilson
    -It provided $200 million in loans for farmers facing foreclosure.
    -This act, based upon a long-running program in Germany, created a system of Federal Land Banks to provide long-term credit to farmers.
    ~offering short-term loans for agricultural production as well as extended low interest rates for farmers threatened by foreclosure. Small farmers were able to refinance their mortgages with the aid of twelve district banks
  • Taylor Grazing Act

    Taylor Grazing Act
    -Congress passed the Taylor Grazing Act of 1934: named after Rep. Edward Taylor
    -It is a United States federal law that provides for the regulation of grazing on the public lands
    -They needed to stop injury to the public grazing lands by preventing overgrazing and soil deterioration, to provide for their orderly use, improvement, and development, to stabilize the livestock industry dependent upon the public range, and for other purposes.

    President Franklin D. Roosevelt initiated the project in response to the severe dust storms of the Dust Bowl
    This project was to create windbreaks in the Great Plains states of the United States
    Concerned about the wind erosion and dust storms that were plaguing the farms of the Great Plains a line of trees or shrubs planted to protect an area. Certain applications can be planted between a farm and highway, to mitigate noise from the traffic and provide a safe barrier between farm animals
