    Earned her degree in Zoology and Philosophy from Colorado State College.
    Lived in Paris for a year where she studied Philosophies of Evolution.
    Earned a PHD in Biology at Yale in 1972.
  • A Cyborg Manifesto

    Published her novel "A Cyborg Manifesto" which used cyborgs as a metaphor to urge feminist to work towards equality of gender in politics.

    Published novel Primate Visions: Gender, race, nature, in the world of modern science. In this novel Haraway studies monkeys, apes, and people, from a feminist approach. Haraway claims past evolutionary studies have had a male bias. Draws on Darwin's evolutionary studies with a feminist eye.
  • Awards

    Recieved the J.D. Bernal award for lifetime contributions to the field of Social Studies in science. After receiving this award Haraway went on to teach women's studies and history of science in Hawaii.
