    Members of the Earth Liberation Front (ELF) set fire to the northeast corner of the of the top floor of the agricultural hall on the campus of Michigan State University. Damages were estimated at $1,000,000.00.

    St. Paul, Minnesota
    A group calling themselves Genetic Jokers vandalized a U.S. Forest Service at the University of Minnesota. Damages were estimated at $20,000.00.

    Moscow, Idaho
    Earth Liberation Front (ELF) spray-painted graffiti on the agricultural-biotechnology building at the University of Idaho. Estimated damages were $4,000.00.

    Earth Liberation Front (ELF), Night Action Kids Cell, sabotaged the agricultural-biotechnology building at the University of Idaho by removing survey stakes and spray-painting graffiti. Estimated damages were minimal.

    Bombs were successfully disarmed at two building at Michigan Technological University. The buildings were the U.S. Forest Service Engineering Laboratory and the Ubald J. Noblet Forestry Building. Both buildings are used for genetic research.

    Unidentified subjects entered the Life Sciences Addition building at the University of California at Davis and defaced walls, doors and refrigerators by spray-painting "No GM", "No to Frankenfoods" and peace symbols. Damage was estimated at $5,000.00.

    Anarchists claimed responsibility for taking six CCTV cameras off the exteriors of buildings on the University of California Santa Cruz as an "act of rebellion to the social control in our daily lives".

    Individuals committed numerous acts of vandalism on the campus of the University of California at Santa Cruz. The subjects broke windows, slashed the tires of twenty university vehicles and construction equipment. They laid down spike strips on the drive leadin to the on-campus residence and office of the UCSC's chancellor. Graffiti on the campus expressed opposition to the prison system, law enforcement and campus growth.

    Chicago and Lincolnwood, Illinois
    Vandals struck four Jewish locations in Chicago and one in Lincolnwood, Illinois. "Death to Israel" and "Free Palestine" were spray-painted onto the Lincolnwood Jewish Congregation Synagogue. In Chicago, rocks were used to break the glass in the front door at the Chabad-Lubavitch Mesivta of Chicago Rabbinical School. "Death to Israel" was spray-painted a brick wall of the Hanna Sacks Bais Yaakov High School.

    "Students for Animal Liberation" claimed an attack on University of Utah in Salt Lake's student transportation system by placing various items deep in the tailpipes of university shuttles. In their communique, they stated the reason was for testing on animals at the Animal Research Center on campus. A warning stated, "We are watching. We will be back and next time it won't be a couple of small repairs".

    The Animal Liberation Front (ALF) claimed to have carried out attacks at the homes of animal researchers associated with the University of Utah. Three of the researchers' homes had "cocktails" left by the front door. The fourth researcher's home had the door glued shut and nearby vehicles vandalized. Demands of the group said they wouldn't back down, until the researchers stopped murdering animals.
  • Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania

    Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania
    Ten to Fifteen people dressed in black vandalized building on the University of Pittsburg campus. Windows were also smashed in a vacant restaurant and a Citizens Bank branch accross the street from the university. Total damage was estimated at $65,000.00. Authorities suspect the attacks were in response to the sentencing of David Japenga for his vandalism during the G-20 Summit.
