A lot of DMC's appeared all over the world, there was a lot of competition. It was difficult to find a good DMC. -

Recession
Things that went up, came down. There were many suppliers and they had to reduce them. Other suppliers, such as hotels, decorators, and transportation companies, began offering similar destination services to DMCs. -
Consolidation
Lot of companies were competing for fewer dollars.Only the strongest survived. Mergers and acquisitions, joint ventures, rollups, cooperative marketing agreements, and even franchise offerings changed the face of destination management. -
Financial crisis
Biggest crisis before on the pandemic. Many DMCs and event planning companies struggled to stay afloat, and some were forced to permanently close their doors. -
Globalization
Large meeting planning departments have been scaled down, it has become more difficult for corporations to manage multiple supplier across the country.
