POLICE MATTER
At this time a lot of cops were getting killed or injured in the line of duty. The thin blue line flag was put all over social media platforms such as facebook, instagram, twitter, etc.
I know its a little older but not by much -
BLACKOUT TUESDAY
This was in remembrance of the death of George Floyd. The used social media was instagram and its tactic was to blackout screens in remembrance of him. -
BLM
This happened a lot last year where people wanted to protest the brutality of and violence against black individuals. #BLM happened on all the different social media platforms. -
COVID PROTESTS
Throughout the whole last year, lots of people have been having protests about being able to go back to work and resume "normal life." There were lots of these protests and social media was used to organize them and inform people of where things were going to be taking place etc. -
STORMING THE CAPITOL
This disruption happened this year when the whole inauguration of the new president. This specifically wasn't something that was planned through social media but we saw all the coverage through it along with the news. Memes and all different kinds of stories came from it and we were able to see it on all the different social media platforms.
