Draws a visual image of the park
Walt Disney discusses his plans for Disneyland with Herb Ryman, convincing him to help draw a visual image of the park. Over 42 hours, the two create a 43x70 inch detailed aerial view. -
Disneyland Opens
At 2:00 PM, Disneyland park opens, in Anaheim, California. Five themed areas are Main Street U.S.A., Frontierland, Fantasyland, Adventureland, and Tomorrowland. Eighteen attractions are ready for use. -

Disneyland welcomes its five millionth guest. -

First Death
The first death in Disneyland is recorded. 15-year old Mark Maples stands up while on the Matterhorn Bobsleds ride, and is catapulted out. He dies four days after the incident. -
Pirates of Carribean
The Pirates of the Caribbean attraction opens in New Orleans Square at Disneyland. It includes 119 Audio-Animatronics figures; 64 human, 55 animals. The whole attraction cost about US$8 million to build. -
Hautned Mansion
The Haunted Mansion attraction opens in New Orleans Square at Disneyland. -
First Baby Born
The first baby is born at Disneyland, Teresa Salcedo, born to Rosa and Elias Salcedo. -
