Digital Cell Theory Timeline

  • Zacharias Janssen

    Zacharias Janssen
Zacharias janssen invented the first optical telescope, and he also invented the first ever compound microscope. Janssen was one of the three people to be involved with the creation of the microscope. Hans and Zacharias Jansen: A complete microscope history. (n.d.). Retrieved September 18, 2015.
  • Robert Hooke

    Robert Hooke
Hooke used the microscope to document his observations and findings. Hooke also discovered the "cell" when using the microscope. He had viewded the "cell" walls in cork tissues, he also looked at plant cells, and found the same thing in wood. Microscope history: Robert Hooke (1635 - 1703). (n.d.). Retrieved September 20, 2015.
  • Mattias Schleiden

    Mattias Schleiden
Schleiden had recognized the imprtance of the cell nucleus. He conclueded that all plant tissues are composed of cells. He also concluded that the cell is the basic building block of all plant matter. He was a lso one of the three scientist to com eup with the cell theory. Stated Cells are the basic units of structure and function in living things. Discovery of Cells and the Developmwnt of Cell Theory. (n.d.). Retrieved September 20, 2015.
  • Cell thoery

    Cell thoery
    1. All living things are made up of cells.
    2. Cells are the basic units of structure and function in living things.
    3. Living cells come only from other living cells.

  • Anton van Leeuwenhoek

    Anton van Leeuwenhoek
Anton van Leeuwenhoek was a creator of microscopes which helped lead up to the digital cell theory. He improved the magnification of microscopes by polishing lenses. Anton Van Leeuwenhoek, Microscope Pioneer. (n.d.). Retrieved September 20, 2015.
  • Theodore Schwann

    Theodore Schwann
Theodore Schwann was one of the three scientist to be involved in the creation of the cell theory. He also dicovered the cells in the peripheral nervous system. Stated that all living things are made up of cells. Schwann, Theodor (1810-1882) -- from Eric Weisstein's World of Scientific Biography. (n.d.). Retrieved September 20, 2015.
  • Robert Virchow

    Robert Virchow
One of the three creator os the cell theory. He stated that all living things come from other living things. Rudolf Virchow | German scientist. (n.d.). Retrieved September 20, 2015.
