UN involvement
UN got involved in the Korean war but not in the Vietnam war. North Korea suddenly attacked South Korea and since south Korea was capitalist, the US wanted immediate involvement. -
Start of Korean War
Korea became a Divided Nation: USSR = South Korea and US = North Korea. The US supplied weapons, tanks and money to attempt to take over the peninsula. Then, North Korea attacked South Korea and Truman helpd resist communism into South Korea. -
Korean Weaponry
MacArthur wanted to order an attack to bomb korea but was denied. Kim Il Sung created nuclear weapons, but economic problems. North Korea had a lot of nuclear weapons and South Korea still had US troops. -
Chineese enter fight
UN tries to get in the war but then collapses. Chinese troops push UN forces back across 38th parallel and capture Southern capital of Seoul. -
End of Korean War
Korea does not have their problem solved. There are still 2 different cities. North Korea and South Korea. North Korea stayed with the nuclear weapons and South Korea still has their US troops. None of these 2 countries wanted to accept the blame but the US wanted to seem more powerful by having his troops there. -
Start of Vietnam War
First, the French controlled Vietnam and they sentenced Ho (the leader) to death so they went to war. The USA supported France and a little bit after, Vietnam divided itself. -
Cold War Influences
In both countries people wanted the war to stop. Really, there were still the ones who wanted their side to win but mostly a lot of people were losing their lives and others their family and friends. -
Vietnam's Dificulties with weapons
North Vietnam had attacked 2 U.S. cities so the US went to war in vietnam. The US planes started to bomb north vietnam and this was bad for them because the US has the most advances technology in all of the world. -

End of Vietnam War
North Vietnam won. People were sent to re-education camps to teach about communism. Most of the people did not want to be re-educated so they escaped. Many people died at sea or went to the US and Canada. -
