  • Kerch and bombing in South Holland

    Kerch and bombing in South Holland
    First, the Soviet forces take Kerch (wich is a city on the Kerch Peninsula in the east of the Crimea. It is a part of Ukraine). The Soviet forces are basically the russians.

  • RAF

    RAF
    On April 11, the Royal Air Force bombs the seat of government in South Holland. Building also called “ The Hague”.

  • Changes

    Changes
    They are changes : they can’t open any windows anymore or flush the toilet after 9:30 pm. Anne is more scared of death now because the rubbers are real. She is also hoping that she will live through the war.

  • Broken plank

    Broken plank
    Somebody tries to break into the office again and the men go downstairs to investigate. A plank to the door of their secret hiding place gets busted by the intruder. Then a married couple comes inside the Annex. When the couple has left, the men (Anne’s father, Van Daan, Dussel and Peter) go downstairs assuming the couple will call the police (but they didn’t).
    The men also call Mr Koophuis and Miep and they show up to fix the broken plank.

  • Crimea

    Crimea
    Second, the Soviet begin the reconquest (they conquire again) Crimea. Crimea is a big land on the north coast of the Black Sea (photo). It is almost completely surrounded by water. Surrounded by the Black Sea and the Sea of Azov.

  • Allies VS Sweden

    Allies VS Sweden
    The Allies confront Sweden because they continue to supply the Nazis with ball bearings for their equipment and weapons.

  • Greek Jews

    Greek Jews
    The Nazis deport the first train that was loaded of Greek Jews from Athens. Sadly, they were killed in the Auschwitz (photo) gas chambers.

  • Stressed

    Stressed
    Everybody in the Annex is stressed and tense. Only Anne’s work, hope, love, and courage keep her going through all this “adventure”.

  • Planes

    Planes
    Heavy air raids (planes) pass over oild fields in Romania by the Royal Air Force (United Kingdom) and the US Air Force (United States).

  • Unlocked door, suspicious people and food

    Unlocked door, suspicious people and food
    Peter forgets to unlock the door at night, so Mr. Kraler (image) and the workers can’t get in the next morning. Mr. Kraler is furious because he has to go around to the back of the office and force the kitchen window.
    The Secret Annex had also left some windos open and people outside might be starting to get suspicious, that is why Mr. Kraler is also mad.
    Cats are getting sick and food is rare.

  • Yalta

    Yalta
    The Soviet forces take Yalta. Yalta is a resort city on the north coast of the Black Sea. On that same day, most of the Crimea is now liberated.

  • First kiss

    First kiss
    Anne and Peter are getting closer and Peter gives Anne her first kiss.

  • Operation Ichi-Go

    Operation Ichi-Go
    That day, the Japanese have lunched Operation Ichi-Go (a lot of battles that put the Japan’s army against the army of the Republic China), with over 600,000 men in central China. The objective was to conquer places where American bombers (people with bombs) were located.

  • Relationship...

    Relationship...
    On that day, Anne wonders if she should talk to her father about her relationship with Peter. She also wants to talk about this relationship with Peter.
