Many settlers moved west of the Jordan River for both summer and winter residences. This started the settlement of West Valley City. -

Territorial Status
After a treat signed by the U.S. government Utah was designated as a US Territory and B. Young was assigned the first Governer. -
Utah War
After continual fighting between different parties (Mormon pioneers, miners, traveling settlers), the President assigned several thousand federal troops to patrol the Utah Territory. -
Mining
Miners began to flock to the area as many precious metals were found in the area. -
Telegraph
The first overland transcontinent telegraph was completed in Utah. -
Golden Spike
The East and West railroads were connected in Utah; it was known as the Golden Spike. -
Industrial Growth
As WWII continued, the Industrial Revolution and Growth, the population of Granger and Hunter grows. -
Formation of WVC
Granger, Hunter and Redwood areas decide to incorporate to form West Valley City. -
West Valley City 1
West Valley is given the designation of being a "first class" city with over 100,000 residents. -
2012 Olympics
The state of Utah was the hose to the 2012 Olymics.
