    Paul Gottlieb Nipkow, a German university student, proposed and patented the world's first mechanical television system. He invented a rotating disk called Nipkow which was one of the successful technologies used to transmit pictures over wire. The Nipkow disk was invented with spiral of holes on it and each hole scanned a slice of the images, for rasterization. The light passed through these holes and produced a picture on the scene, but the picture only has eighteen lines resolution quality.

    John Logie Baird, a Scottish inventor, gave the first demonstration of televised silhouette images in motion at Selfridge's Department Store in London. However, at that time, the image of human faces had poor contrast to show up on his invention. Therefore, at the same time, he televised a ventriloquist's dummy which was known as his televised equipments who did talking and moving and he called it "Stooky Bill". It is whose painted face had higher contrast
  • The first electronic television

    Philo T. Farnsworth, an American inventor, a first person who transmitted an image through an electronic device called " Image dissector" (the first camera tube).Then it converted the image into a current and was received in "Image oscilltie" (the picture tube).The simple image of a straight line was placed between the image dissector and a carbon arc lamp, it showed up clearly on another receiver.His first television electronic image was transmitted on a glass slide in his lab in San Francisco.
  • The world's first colour television tranmission

    Scottish inventor John Logie Baird demonstrated the world's first color transmission. To make this, he used scanning disc at the transmitting and receiving ends with 3 spiral of holes and each spiral with filters of a different primary. For the receiving end, it had a commutator to change the lighting of those color. This development helped people can watch television in color images not just silhouette images.

    the first practical remote control was invented by Robert Adler and was called as the "Zenith Space Commander". It was proceeded by wired remotes. There was one disadvantages of it as when it could not work in sunlight. It was first entered in American home. At that time, this device was really helpful because we could turn the TV on and off or switch the channels. However, it was not a wireless remote control.

    AT & T launched Telstar, the first satellite to carry TV broadcast. From this people could watch the same channel even they didn't live in the same country.
  • The first public TV broadcast

    BBC ( Bristish Broadcasting Coporation) transmitted the first public TV broadcst. This is the first regular high definition which defined about 200 lines. This service was called Victorian Alexanda Palace in London.
