    French Invasion and Hostilities
The French Invasion basically pushed/forced Germans out of their homeland and into America. The German's mainly consisted of what they called 'Palatines'. This group was seeking religious freedom and to own their own land. When this happened obviously more and more German's began to come to america for a better life. With this being said they took over land in the 13 colonies and their way of living was different from others already in America.
  • The American Revolutionary War

    The American Revolutionary War
This war was a global war that started between Great Britain and the 13 Colonies. When the war ended America gained its independence from Great Britain. • Treaty of Paris

    Treaty of Paris
The Treaty of Paris ended the war between Great Britain and France. Once this happened France gave away there territories, which ended any foreign military threat to the British. This taking place caused a great deal of Britain power and a lot more immigration. • The Naturalization Act

    The Naturalization Act
This Act was the first one that the United States had to follow to grant any type of citizenship. This law pretty much began to shape what the american society was going to look like in the future. Once that passed this Act the immigration in America changed dramatically and became difficult for people to gain citizenship. With this being said people immigrating from other parts of the world didn't have it so easy anymore.
  • The War of 1812

    The War of 1812
The war between America and Britain in 1812 really slowed down the immigration process for about two years before they re established peace. When the peace was re established that is when the immigration really picked back up and was at an all time high. From then on the immigration stayed pretty steady for the next couple of years. The only problem with the immigrants coming across the sea was a lot of the time they were sick and dying from traveling and so they had to pass the Steerage Act.
