Reviewing our first draft.
This is the first draft of our poster, I think that it has gone very well so far and that we have used many of the codes and conventions that are necessary to have in a professional poster. However it is not complete and it is important that we know how our target audience feel about the poster so far, therefore we conducted a small questionaire about the poster so far (which is the picture b) to see what people thought of our poster. -

Creating our Poster

Making Changes
This questionaire gave us a lot of feedback, the picture bellow is how we developed the poster over the lesson that followed, one of the comments about what should be added was the background being to plain and bare, to counter this we decided it would be a good idea to put some drawings and symbols to represent the characters. For example we put angels wings on Jodies character because her personality is very stubborn and selfish, the love heart is next to Sam as he is caring and helpful. -
After the changes, Second draft
Another area for improvement that was suggested by people was the lack of information on the poster, in response to this we added a little title bar across the top of the poster, this meant that we were able to add in the slogan for our film without taking up to much space. The picture represents what we did in the next lesson after our feedback, I feel that it is a good change and demonstrates that we have clearly used the advice we where given. -
Group Discussion
After a group discussion we decided that a durastic change was needed, we thought the background was to dull and gave the effect the film was more about drama that comedy, we decided that a bright and more vibrant blue was needed to be used, we also thought that the background behind the two main character was bare and needed something to support them, we decided to add a film strip with still shots from the film. -
Adding Conventions
This is a closer shot of the completed film strip. -
Conventions of a poster
Reviews from major reporting companies and film magazines are needed to promote the film, this is a close up shot of the reviews on the poster Wild Bill which is where we took the idea to use them from. -
Poster Progression
This is the poster with the finished and implemented film strip, we have also brought the billing block to the front of the image which was a fault that was identified in some feedback. We have also started to add the reviews rated from 1-5 stars by the Sun and Little White Lies. -
Final Poster
This is our completed and final poster, we feel that all coventions of a poster have been covered with our final effort.
