    The Join or Die cartoon was created because Franklin was worried about the military and their strength because they had just lost some battles. The cartoon was supposed to help unify the colonies together to fight against the enemy. This is important because it helped made the colonies have stronger militaries and show that a united army would have a better chance of winning independece.

    The Boston Massacre began when Boston inhabitants incited violence by throwing rocks at British soldiers. There was a miscommunication, and British soldiers ended up firing shots into the crowd, killing 5 men. Paul Revere captured the riot in the image seen to the left. This event was important because it showed that the British would use violence and because it helped ignite the idea of rebellion.

    In the Boston Tea Party, colonists dumped 342 crates of tea into the Boston Harbor. The reason the colonists did this was because they were angry about the tax that Britain was putting on the tea. The event adding to the increasing tension between Britain and the colonies. It was one of the main events that caused the revolution.
