    The Great Migration
    During this time, there was a huge demand for manufactured items in the SC which meant there needed to be a lot of factory workers. Therefore, a great amount of people migrated from the South to seek job opportunities, a lot of these people were African Americans. This was a high because a lot of those people found jobs and more items were made.
  • The Growth of Tourism

    The Growth of Tourism
    The construction of new roads in SC influenced a growth of tourism. People all around the US got to explore different parts and experience other cultures and traditions. This was a high because people got to experience things they've never experienced before!
  • Reasons for Agricultural Depression and Farms

    Reasons for Agricultural Depression and Farms
    After World War 1, people in SC had no need for mass production of agriculture anymore because the demand was just not as high anymore. Farmers had way too much, prices sunk, and droughts came into the story. This was a major low because the supply and demand for agriculture plunged and now farmers had no idea what to do.
  • Rural Electrification

    Rural Electrification
    In 1936, the government allowed rural areas and farms to get electricity. It took a while for electricity to be established in less popular ares however residents were able to get government loans. This was a high because farms and citizens were able to have electricity to do more daily activities!
  • The Doolittle Raiders

    The Doolittle Raiders
    The Doolittle Raiders were a crew of 80 pilots and and Jimmy Doolittle, a World War 1 Veteran. They took off in the USS Hornet and hit their targets which included Tokyo, Yokohama, and other Japanese cities. They accomplished all their targets however they crash landed in Japanese occupied China. This was a high because they gave the American people high hopes
  • The Tuskegee Airmen

    The Tuskegee Airmen
    The Tuskegee Airmen were in both the 332nd Fighter Group and the 477th bombardment group of the US Air Corps and Army. They served graciously during the war and made an amazing record during their time. This was a high because they served the US during WW2.
