During this event Dave's Dad dies which makes Dave andd Gideon now orphans. Their mom died at Dave's birth and Dave cannot forget it. Also nobody in the family wanted to take Dave so he was seperated from Gideon. Dave's Dad died from falling off a roof. -

Ida starts to pack Dave's bags and they get on the subway to go to the orphanage. -
Dave roams the streets of Harlem
Dave has escaped and wants to find a place like home because nowhere else he feels welcome. -
Dave arrives at the Hebrew Home for Boys
Dave and Ida arrive at the Hebrew Home for Boys and Dave is not happy with what he sees. -
Dave tries to escape the HHB
Dave causes a huge commotion by trying to escape because he dislikes the HHB so much. Right now he is like a cat in a bathtub. -
Dave makes new "Buddies"
When Dave is at the HHB he meets new boys that are his age and he gets to know them. -

Dave manages to climb up a tree and get outside the prison-like walls of the HHB. -

While walking around the park by the HHB Dave encouters a man named Solly. -
