charles darwin quits medical and begins his life as a naturalist and sets sail on the H.M.S. Beagle at the age of 22. -
First stop
The ship arrived at the port of Santa Cruz, Tenerife Island. The crew was prevented from going ashore due to a cholera outbreak in England. -
First discovery
Darwin went ashore and explored for a few days. Here he made his first discovery a horizontal white band of shells within a cliff face along the shoreline about 45 feet above sea level. Because the cliff had been under the water so he wanted to know how it got 45 feet above the water. -
Galapagos islands
charles darwin travels to the galapagos islands where he finds most of his famous findings. -
Time to go home
Charles returns home and begins publishing his theories after returning to England, Charles started writing papers on his findings and theories. He began publishing his papers right away. -

Charles began making his first theories on the mutation and evolution of animals within their species. -
