The main character in the book Daniel is born. He will go through many obstacles in the story such as the Holocaust itself. -
Hitler is chosen as Chancellor of Germany and Nazi Power comes to power
After many and many months of struggle Germany "thinks" they have found the one to help Germany come out of their "Great Depression". With Germany desperate and seeing some of the many "wonderful" things Hitler has done they plan for any brilliant ideas he will come up with. -
German Boy Cotts shops and business Jews owned
The boycott began at 10 a.m. on Saturday, April 1st, 1933, and lasted only a day. these people called storm troopers, stood at entrances to Jewish shops, department stores, professional offices and any other place Jews owned They held poster signs saying: "Germans, defend yourselves against the Jewish atrocity propaganda, buy only at German shops!" This is how all of the chaos started.. -
Nuremburg Laws
These laws is what started all of the discrimination with the Jews. First thing Hitler had done that had really made Jews and Germany itself start second guessing what was going on. The laws were kind of like how the laws were against blacks during Dr.Martin Luther King jr.Time. Jews will have bathrooms, theyre own pools. Etc. Germans were treating them like pigs. And outcast. -
Night Of The Broken Glass
This is when the Jews started having every alittle freedom and basic belief away from them. Religion was starting to kick in now. Germans would burn the synagogues. Houses burned. Jewish stores started to just get vandalized. And Random Jewish Men and Women would be arrested. -
Germany Begins World War 2
Germany makes theyre first step by invading Poland. Due to this Germany then started to have ghettos for the Jews. They would be moved constantly or a year at a time it all depended on the population at that particular ghetto. Nazis also make a law of Jews staying in theyre ghetto homes at 9, o clock. -
Daniels Family Is Deported To Lodz Ghetto
Theyre were multiple ghettos the Nazis had set up, the most well known "Aushwitz". As Daniel gets moved to the ghetto in Lodz he has many harsh labor to do and terrible respect. Nazis would only give a quarter or a loaf of bread a week. And soup was just mush and water. They only fed the Jews to keep them alive. -
Nazis Worry
The Nazis are in fear of the Allied forces approaching closer and closer as each day leads on. They dont want to seem like the bad guys so they destory and hide any proof of the gas chambers they had set up and or body parts or remains of the Jews. The Nazis do all of this to the Lodz ghetto Daniels family was staying at which causes him to move to another one, yet one of the worst. AUSHWITZ. -
Allied Forces Land In Normany France on D-day
When the Americans got bombed randomly by the Japanese thats also the day the Allied forces get into Normany France where they start fighting theyre way through to Berlin and from theyre freedom to the Jews in the path they fight through. -
BuchenWald Freedom
Another terrible Ghetto. The Nazis find out the Americans are really close so they start evacuating the Jews and destory/hide evidence like they did with Lodz ghetto. Eventually Americas are surrounding all of the ghetto which leads to the Nazis putting up white flag. -
Finally Freedom and Liberty atlast
AFTER MANY AND MANY terrible and horrid things the Nais had done to the Jews Germany finally surrenders to the Allied nations. The jews get proper care for those who had survived and they burry any bodies found remaining.Daniel finds Rosa, a girl hes had a crush on since they met eachother in the ghetto in Lodz and he propses to her and they get married. And plan to move to Palestine.
