    Daniel Dennett was an American philosopher specializing in philosophy of the mind.. Daniel Dennett's most notable work is his first book, "Content and Consciousness", originally published in 1969.
  • Darwin's Dangerous Idea

    Dennett believes that Darwin's theory of evolution to be an important advancement for adaptationism. He believes it explains the idea of "survival of the fittest", the mind, religion, ethics, and oneself. Dennett claims that adaption can be a mean of explanation. In his book "Darwin's Dangerous Idea", Dennett talks about some of the repercussions of the Darwin theory.
  • Content and Consciousness

    Dennett challenged against the idea of the "Cartesian theater" that claims there is central location in the brain that controls consciousness. Dennett's book "Content and Counsciouness" talks about these challenges against the "Cartesian theater". Which he believed the "Cartesian theater" to be the traditional picture of our mental that holds us captive. Dennett wanted to offer us an alternative way of thinking.
  • Multiple drafts model

    Dennett states that there are three levels of reality: the physical, design, and the intentional stance ( a way of understanding) . The intentional stance allows us to predict ones behavior, whether it be beliefs, desires, or intentions.
    He became known for his "multiple drafts model". Dennett's model explains how our consciousness is a collection of narratives.
