    Fame in The Brain

Dan Dennett is most famously known for his concepts of the conscious experience. "Dennett calls Cartesian materialism, the idea that after early unconscious processing occurs in various relatively peripheral brain structures" (Dennett, Akins). He says that everything comes together in the brain at some point in order form a presentation for your brain to understand. Although there is no such known place in the brain there are many theories the claim there must be something.
  • Darwin's Dangerous Idea: Evolution and the Meanings of Life

Dennett's book looks at Darwinism and evolution. This work does not try to go against Darwin, but rather tries to elaborate on it and explain that everything that has any type of importance in the world is a product of Darwin's evolution. Dennett focuses on the influence Darwin had on other scientist.

Attached is a link to a TED Talk by Dan Dennett where he he talks about "The Illusion of Consciousness". In the video, Dennett argues that we do not understand our own consciousness as well as we think we do because we are made up of tiny robot cells that work together to somehow make up our minds. https://www.ted.com/talks/dan_dennett_on_our_consciousness?language=en#t-342727
