Churches saw dance as a pagon activity, dance was banned unless in church. Anywhere else you danced was a sin. -

Ballet starts to emerge, interpretation of fencing, enters. In Italy the courts wear costumes while dancing and do many poses. King Louis XIV granted permission for first ballet school. Ballet began to grow and become more serious. -
