Battle of Brandywine and Germantown
After the British won the Brandywine and Germantown battles they took control of Philadelphia. They slept and dined in Philadelphia, while the colonists were camping in Valley Forge. -
The Articles of Confederation
The Second Continental Congress adopted the Articles of Confederation. It took four years for all states to accept the plan. The other six years tested the new government. In 1781, all the states adopted the Articles of Confederation. -
Wyoming Massacre
Settlers feared the war and they moved into Native American territory. British gave them weapons, they killed 200 settlers. This was called the Wyoming Massacre. -
The British surrender at Yorktown
British surrender to American and French troops. This happend at Yorktown, Virginia. -
The Treaty of Paris
John Adams, Ben Franklin and John Jay signed the Treaty of Paris. It ended The Revolutionary War. It recognized American Independence and its borders. -
