    The DREAM Act
    the DREAM(Development, Relief, Education for Alien Minors) act was purposed by the senators, and it was meant to provide immigrants brought to the U.S. as children with a path to citizenship.

    President Obama was elected for his first term. His goal wasn't to target low-priority immigrants, but the federal agents were doing so either way. 370,000 immigrants were deported
  • The DREAM Act was passed

    The DREAM Act was passed
    55 members of the Senate voted that the DREAM Act be passed, and so the bill passed the House and got majority in the Senate. Unfortunately it failed to get 60, and was blocked by Republicans
  • DACA Act was born

    the DACA Act was supposed to be temporary, and was meant to postpone or defer, the deportation of immigrants for two years with the possibility of being renewed with multiple benefits. It was meant to protect the 780,000 illegal immigrants that were brought over to the United States as children
  • Texas Files Against DACA

    Texas AG filed a law suit against DACA on the grounds that it was unconstitutional. They claimed that the effects of Obama's orders would be most felt in southern states who continuously are effected by illegal immigrants. They claimed that the DACA Act encouraged illegal immigrants to come over to the United States, which was costly fir the states and continued to force them to redirect funds toward illegal immigrants.
  • Trump Removes Privacy Policy

    Trump removed the privacy protection for DACA recipients. Under the Obama administration, the information of that of DACA recipients was protected and secure from ICE agents, but not it no longer is. Their information is now easily available to ICE agents
  • Republicans

    A group of 10 republican state officials write the administration a letter asking them to end DACA and threatened to file a law suit if the administration didn't reply discussing the programs constitutionally.
  • Trump rescinds DACA

    The administration has chosen to end DACA, and came up with two possible courses of action . Either Congress passes a bill by the deadline, which is set to be March 5th, 2018 or it doesn't. If it does, then the future of the DREAMers rest in the hands of the legislative branch.
