First Occupants
At the time, the Native (Aboriginal) people, were in use of the land of North America. There culture and beliefs were Nature friendly. No-one possessed land. They only hunted what they needed. All education was tought orally because the Natives did not know how to read and write. -

Shamanism
In each Native community, there was always a Shaman. The Chaman was mostly male. He is the priest/medicine man. Whenever someone is in need they will always go to the Shaman for advice. He is the healer of all types of wounds. -

The French Regime
This was when the French from France took over the land of the Natives without their permission. The French took over the Natives because they had better weapons. Although the French took over the land of the Natives, they still made allies with some communities of Aboriginals. -
The Royal Governemnt
This was when the King ended the Monopolies made by the Companies. And replaced them with the Minister of Marine (Jean-Baptiste Colbert). Jean-Baptiste was the kings contact to New France. The King and Jean-Baptiste decided to make a new Government system (Royal Government), which consists of an intendant, a Bishop and a Governer. -
Imperialism
This is the policy of extending the rule of authority of an empire or nation over foreign countries. This is when a colony looks up to their mother country. For example: New France looks up to France. -

This is a political or social philosophy advocating the Freedom of Individual, giving the private owners of businesses freedom to do what they want under a certain amount of rules -

This was the philosophy of the Church (catholic religion) having total power of society. This total power is also known as absolute obedience. -
Anticlericalism
This Philosophy opposed to the influence of the activities of the clergy or church in secular or public affairs. It represents the seperation between state and church. -
Contemporary Period
The Contemperary Period is from the end of the British Regime to the present. It is how the Cultures, beliefs, politics, economy, and social life changed throughout the years. -
Capitalism
This was when a individual running a private organisation has the right to invest and own a production and distribution company and make wealth off of it. -
Socialism
This is when a social organisation (community) runs an economic developement. This system is more equal and more organized. -
Agriculturalism
This is a philosophy that pushes agriculture and rural sections of the economy. Supporting the farming industries. -
Nationalism
This is when someone devotes to their own nation and its interests over other nations. When someone is loyal to their own colony instead of their mother country. -
Laicism
This is the philosophy of the Chruch being far away from having any type of control in any part of the political section. -
Feminism
Feminism is the role of women. It is also women's rights in society. At the time, Woman were known to have few rights, a hard life and they were always forced to do whatever their husbands had told them. -
Americanism
Emergence of American cultural trends: dance, music, and spread of American Culture through films, radio and television. -
Neoliberalism
It is when the state is removed in various spheres of society. Especially in the economy. For example: companies were now able to do what they wish, with no further laws. -

At the end of the second world war, things opened up for women because all of the men were at war. Therefore, more job oppurtunities as nurses. -
Co-operatism
This is when groups or unions have their own company. These groups are usually involved with two leaders. (co-op) -
Fascism
The idea that a dictator (single person) should control the entire country. They normally rule threw the use of propaganda/force.
