    Day 2- President Kennedy's Disscussion about the ICBM's
    President Kennedy Disscusses what the United States should do about the U-2 Findings and makes a visit to Connecticut to support democratic candidate. American military troops are moved to southeastern bases.
  • Day 3- President Kennedy meets with Soviet Foreign Minister

    Day 3- President Kennedy meets with Soviet Foreign Minister
    President Kennedy meets with Soviet Foreign Minister Andrei Gromyko. He tells Kennedy that Cuba doesn't not pose a threat to the United States. Kennedy responds by saying if indeed Cuba was an offensive threat there would be consequences.

    President Kennedy meets with Robert McNamara, secretary of defense, to continue deciding what course of action to take. Then, he leaves for Illinois and Ohio for a scheduled campaign trip.

    President Kennedy is back in Washignton only to find out about more Soviet missle. Along with advisors, he decides on quarantine and makes a speech to notify the American people

    President Kennedy meets with General Walter Sweeny and learns that an air strike would not necessarily work. He decides to put up a blockade on Cuba
  • Day 7- President Kennedy's Address

    President Kennedy talks with Congress and former leaders about the missle found in Cuba and the plan of the blockade. At 7:00pm, President Kennedy addresses the public.
  • Day 8- the Organization of States

    Day 8- the Organization of States
    The Organization of States (OAS) approved the quarantine. President Kennedy asks the Russian leader to halt any Russian ships so they don't run into the United States Navy Seals. President Kennedy wanted to avoid any confrontation.
  • Day 9- Kennedy finds out about the photos

    Day 9- Kennedy finds out about the photos
    The Russian leader responds to Kennedy's letter and doesn't agree with Kennedy. McNamara informs Kennedy about new reconnaissance photos from Cuba and discuss the need of disperse planes near the Florida bases. The US military go into DEFCON 2.

    Knowing that U-2 Findings are a threat, President Kennedy writes Premier Khrushchev asking him to change the course of events.

    President Kennedy writes to Khrushchev asks him to change the course of action. Khrushchev refuses to listen to Kennedy. The United States and Soviets debate in the halls of the UN. One ship, the Bucharest, carrying petroleum is allowed through the quarantine.

    President Kennedy receives a letter from EXCOMM says that if the Soviets remove the missles from Cuba, the United States will not invade Cuba.

    Day 12- American Plane Shot Down
    An American Plane was shot down over Cuba. A second letter was sent by Khrushchev asking to remove missles from Turkey as well as publicly announce that the United States will not invade Cuba.
  • Day 13- The Crisis is Over

    Day 13- The Crisis is Over
    The Cuban Missle Crisis is over. Khrushchev decides to remove the ICBMs from Cuba. President Kennedy continued the quarantine for 1 month after the missles were removed from Cuba.
