An Agreement is Reached
Khrushchev wrote a letter to Kennedy saying that if Kennedy removed the missiles from Turkey, dropped there quarantine and promised to leave Cuba alone, then the Soviets would take there missiles out of Cuba. Kennedy agreed, thus ending the most dangerous 13 days of the Cold War. taking the missiles out of Turkey was kept a secret so Kennedy could look tough.
