    The proclamation of 1763 prohibited English settlement west of App. mountains. This waas to prevent future wars with Natives. The English didnt want to spend anymore money fighting wars in North America. The colonist were outraged by the proclamation. They beleived that the land was theirs due to the war that they just fought.

Thus for the first time in the 150 year old history of the British colonies in America, the Americans will pay tax not to their own local legislatures in America, but directly to Englanmd. Under the stamp act, all printed materials were taxed.
