Discovery by the English
A British ship, intending to reach Mexico from eastern China, was blown off course by tropical storms and forced to land on an island in the Pacific. They were captured by natives and taken to the monarch, who was intrigued by these white men.The crew stayed for seven years. Over time, they became close friends with the monarch and taught him English. When they left the island at last, he ordered that all Pacifians must speak English. The language has become part of the Pacifian culture. -
The Three Unforgivable Sins
The current monarch, Albin Shah, detested the English customs and the worshipping of the Pacifian sun god, Mahat, as well as the Christian God. He sent out an order he called the Three Unforgivable Sins. The first sin was speaking English. The second was worshipping Mahat, and the third was worshipping God. He demanded that all must worship him instead, and those who commited one of the three sins would be killed. These acts would lead to Pannem's Rebellion. -
Pannem's Rebellion
Due to the Three Unforgivable Sins act, many Pacifians felt a great lack of the freedoms they once had. Many secretly prayed to God and Mahat, were eventually caught, and hung. After more than a decade after the act, a villager named Pannem Lombarda organized a group known as Mahatmed, which means "the men of Mahat", to rebel against Albin Shah. They torched the royal palace and the temples of Albin. This led to the War of Shah. -
The War of Shah
The War of Shah started as an attempt by Albin Shah to capture the Mahatmed. However, it quickly turned into a blood bath as the Royal Guard killed many innocent people in hopes that one would lead them to the Mahatmed. This infuriated the people of Pacifia, and volunteers from over thirteen cities came to fight in the growing war. After three years of blood shed, the Mahatmed were victorious after they captured Albin Shah. This led to a new government. -
The Christian Mahat.
After Albin Shah was overthrown, Pannem Lombarda took charge and created a new founding document called the Christian Mahat. The Christian Mahat contained a new list of rules for the Pacifian people, very different from Albin Shah's rule. It stated things from before Shah's reign like the freedom to worship Mahat and God as well as the freedom to speak English or their native tongue, Mahaten. The Christian Mahat is still used today. -
Hurricane Tempe
Also known as the Hurricane of 1823 or Demon's Hurricane, Hurricane Tempe, the worst hurricane in Pacifian history, was a storm around the equivalent of Katrina. It struck the northeast region of Pacifia, entering the Pacifian Bay. Though the number of deaths were not as great as during Katrina due to the fact that most major cities were inland, there was considerable property damage all along the coast to the numerous small farms and ranches.
