The Record Player
The record player was invented in 1877 by Thomas Edison; however, it wouldn't become popular until later in history. Music has been such an influential aspect in my life that I couldn't forget to list this. I remember staying up late with my grandfather and listening to records before dinner while I was half-asleep. I value my record player very much and currently own one. This device is going to be the grandfather to the iPod, CD's, Cassettes, etc. -
The Light Bulb
While I was not around for Thomas Edison's invention of the lightbulb in 1879, you can't deny that society was forever changed by the invention and it would be very likely that none of the other devices could have ever existed without this invention -
The Radio
The radio serves as the grandfather to modern entertainment and is going to revolutionize the way in which one thinks about communication. While the radio is beginning to become a little bit outdated currently, it establishes the basis for many other communication/ broadcasting devices such as the television. While I was not around for the invention of the radio, it was influential in my life because I remember sitting and listening to the radio with my grandma when I was staying there. -
The SNES
The SNES is probably one of the most influential video games in which I had when I was little. I remember going down in the basement with my aunt (who was also my babysitter) and playing Super Mario World for hours on end. The console was sold from 1990 - 1999. -
The DS
I got into video games relatively late compared to many of my other friends at school. My mom hated the idea of video games and my dad loved them, so our family always had this love-hate relationship with video games. However, the ds was probably one of the most influential consoles that I had because it made it more interactive and it actually helped me make friends in elementary school because they were so trendy. The product ran from 2004 and was discontinued in 2014.
