After the Napoleonic Wars, Russia took away Finland. Then in 1905, Norway broke away from Sweden. Both the countries were originally Sweden though. Nowadays, the Tornio river splits Finland and Sweden. Norway is aeparated by the Scandinavian Mountain drainage valley. -
