  • Big Bang "explosion" occurs

    Big Bang "explosion" occurs
    Big Bang
This "explosion" creates the universe, generates space/time and creates all matter that exists. It is infidently hot and dense.
  • Period: to

    The Big Bang

  • Inflation of the universe

The speck of the universe expands to about the size of a grapefruit and all the energy produced is transferred into matter (quarks, electrons, neutrinos, photons, etc are created).
  • Universe takes shape

    Universe takes shape
    Universe Takes SHape
It continues to grow in size and as it grows, it becomes less dense and cools. Also, fundamental forces are created, such as gravity, nuclear strong forces, nuclear weak forces and electromagnetic forces (E.M.)
  • Fundamental subatomic particles

Quarks, electrons, photons and neutrinos start to combine together to make other elements. Quarks then give birth to protons and neutrons.
  • Basic Elements

    Basic Elements
    Helium, Hydrogen and Lithium
Helium, hydrogen and lithium- lightest fundamental elements- are created. Electrons are present but it is still too hot for them to join to their respective nuclei because of excessive amounts of kinetic energy.
  • End of 'Dark Era'

Electrons are now cool enough to orbit their parental atoms, which creates neutral atoms. It is the end of the dark era because light is now able to get pass the now stable electrons.
  • Formation of Stars

    Formation of Stars
    Stars
Gravity starts to pull helium, hydrogen and lithium towards each other. When combined, this creates heat, which becomes flaming hot balls of gas. This creates stars.
  • Formation of Galaxies

    Formation of Galaxies
    Galaxy
    Clumps of stars become galaxies.
  • Heavier Elements

    Heavier Elements
    Supernova
The first stars contained hydrogen and helium and it is this high concentration of hydrogen that creates the light reaction in the star. This is turn creates helium which creates large amounts of helium. When the star dies, it collapses in on itself, causing a supernova. It is in these supernovas that provided a furnace for the creation of heavier elements.
  • Creation of the Sun

    Creation of the Sun
    Our Sun
The theory is that our sun was created by an exploding star and the remnants of the supernova. Hydrogen and helium created by the supernova are pulled together by gravity and form our sun.
  • Creation of the Earth

    Creation of the Earth
    Our Earth
Other elements that had been created by the dying star that created our sun would be left over and would have orbited our sun. They are pulled together by gravity and they give us the Earth and also all the other planets.
  • Earliest Life

    Earliest Life
    Earliest Life
This was the earliest life form to appear. These organisms were like plants: they absorbed the sun's rays and transferred it into food.
  • Mammals

    Mammals
    Mammals
The first mammals that roamed the earth were dinosaurs and flying reptiles also roamed the earth. These were the earliest forms of life that were larger than amoeba.
  • Extinction of Dinosaurs

    Extinction of Dinosaurs
    Extinction of Dinosaurs
Dinosaurs roamed the Earth between the Jurassic period. However, they were killed out by a comet which caused catastrophic events, such as tsunamis, volcanic explosions, etc. Dinosuars are now extinct
  • Homosapiens Evolve

    Homosapiens Evolve
    Homosapiens
The first mammals that began to walk on two feet were the Australopithicus species. They were the first hominids and as time progressed, they began to evolve, until the ancestors of humans roamed the Earth.
  • Present Day

    Present Day
    Earth at Present Time
The world we once knew has changed. Technology was created and helped with many things. Humans too have evolved from the simplistic mammals that they used to be.
