    South Asia, creator's of the number zero.
  • Period: 330 to 1453

    Byzantine Empire

    Europe, Asia, and Africa. They had their city destroyed badly, but then rebuilt it bigger and better.

    Imperial China

    China. Created the magnetic compass.
  • Period: 632 to 1258

    Muslim Empire

    Southeast Europe. This was the empire interested in zoology which was medicines from animals and the anatomy of animals.

    Japan

    Japan, had samurai which are still very popular in Japan today.
  • Period: 800 to

    Holy Roman Empire

    North Africa, had stoicism which is the belief that there was a divine intelligence ruling and also led them to live in a way that agreed with nature.

    West Africa, this had fully converted Muslims that weren't strict until after they had a rebellion.

    Ghana

    West Africa, gold and salt were it's biggest trade items.

    West Africa, it was very rich and became noted by Europe after Mansa Musa went on his Hajj.

    Aztecs

    South America. Ruled over 5 million people, started as mercenaries threats helped gain power, and they had their own tribute system to help with their power growth.
  • Period: 1438 to 1533

    Incas

    South America. Ruled over 10 million people, stretched empire almost completely along Andes mountains, 2500 miles long.
