Greece accepted 4 of the demands from Italy that had been made by Mussolini. When Mussolini saw that Greece had accepted 4 of his demands, he became really angry -
Italian troops landed in Corfu
Mussolini had enough of Greece so he sent 5000--10,000 naval troops to bombard the Greek island of Corfu. The bombardment lasts for 15--30 minutes. -
League of Nations
Greece contacted the League of Nations but Antonio Salandra, the representative of Italy in the council had absolutely no permission to discuss this crisis. Mussolini decided not to cooperate to the League and said that the Conference of Ambassadors would be better for solving this dispute. This results in Italy leaving the League. -
Conference of Ambassadors
The Conference of Ambassadors states that 50 million lire for compensation as well as more demands. Greece accepted the demands but Italy said that she would not leave Greece alone until Greece had fully accepted the demands. Greece then fully accepted the demands and the Conference praised Mussolini for his efforts.
