    The Shang empire is an empire that took power around 1600 BC. They had many Advancements and achievements. They had developed a nice fine writing system with over 2000 symbols that they used. They also created a 12 month calendar with a 365 day year. They made many different things out of bronze which helped them with combat and building. They were also the first dynasty to unite a large part of China under one king or ruler.

    Ethiopia is a place that is kind of isolated from the rest of Africa. This independence allowed the people that lived in Ethiopia to develop a “unique sense of identity”. In Ethiopia, they had both Judaism and Christianity. They had trade and that brought people from different cultures in different cities in East Africa. This trade brought Islam through the region and that changed their architecture. They also developed the language of Swahili.

    The silk road was built around 130 BCE and was shut down around 1453 CE. The silk road was a road that anyone could travel on to trade goods. The silk road stretched for 4,000 miles between China and Southwest Asia. From there it went all the way to Europe. China sent a bunch of goods such as silk, tea, spices, paper and fine porcelain. In return they would get things such as wool, gold and silver.

    The Cara and other people decided that they were going to build fishing villages along the Pacific coast. The Chibcha and Quitu moved to the mountain valleys in the andys. They all created very advanced societies that farmed and made clothes out of cotton and ornaments of gold. They traded these goods with the Incas. Also, the year shown below is incorrect because it didn't give me an exact date, but it is making me fill one in.

    In 1625, there was a plague called Yersinia pestis and it killed 40,000 Londoners. There was an outbreak of this disease again in 1664 but then went away. The following February it came back again. It started to die down again that December and there were only a few deaths recorded that year. In 1665, the same plague came back and it killed 100,000 out of the estimated 460,000 total population.

    The Boston tea party is where 60 colonists dressed as Mohawk Indians and boarded a ship owned by the British East India Company with a bunch of tea on it. On that boat, they dumped chests full of tea into the Boston harbor to revolt against the new tea tax that they had.

In 1808 the French leader Napoleon came and conquered and invaded Spain. They finally defeated the French and got them out of Spain in 1814. Spain's king was trying to restore order to Spain and all over South America. This didn't work and the Spanish were finally defeated in 1823.

    The Igbo’s felt that they could no longer live under Nigerian law. They then decided to secede from Nigeria to make a new country called Biafra. The Nigerians did not like this and declared war upon the Igbo’s. During the 2 ½ years of war, there were about 100,000 military casualties. Between 500,00-2,000,000 Biafran civilians died of starvation.

    On April 28, 1996, a single gunman killed 35 people and injured 25 more at the Port Arthur Historic Site in Tasmania. This was the deadliest shooting in Australia history. After this happened the Australian government began tight gun control laws that are that are almost the strictest in the world.
